RECEPTION: All Palette Club members, friend and family are invited to attend a reception held in conjunction with the Ogden Arts First Friday Art Stroll, at each competition. Please bring an appetizer item to share with the crowd, the more the merrier! Invite your friends, families, and collectors that are interested in art.
Categories for cash and ribbons:
1. Best of Show (Ribbon & $$$)
2. Beginners 1st – 2nd – 3rd Places (Ribbon & $)
3. Intermediate 1st – 2nd – 3rd Places (Ribbon & $)
4. Advanced 1st – 2nd – 3rd Places (Ribbons & $)
5. Master 1st – 2nd – 3rd Places (Ribbon & $)
6. Mixed Media(incl digital)
7. 3-Dimensional
8. Honorable Mention (Ribbon only)
New members will be placed in the appropriate level at the time of entry according to the Masters Council currently; consisting Masters are of Mac Stevenson, Reed Loveland & Darlene Hamblin.
RULES:
1. Artist must be a current member of the Palette Club, those artists joining by the take in date shall be allowed into the show. Membership Dues are $20.00 annually Make checks payable to: Palette Club of Ogden.
2. Artists are restricted to a maximum of two pieces. A non-refundable entry fee of $5.00 per piece will be charged, this entry fee will apply to the cash prizes.
3. The Judge will be a professional artist, not affiliated with the Palette Club, and his/her decisions will be final.
4. All entries must be original creations. . An original artwork is one not received from others nor one copied based on the work of others. Thus, can be distinguished from reproductions, clones, forgeries, derivative works, or parodies. Source material must be available upon request. Artwork entered must have been completed within the previous two years, and shall not have been displayed in any previous Palette Club judged exhibits. All artwork must remain on display for the duration of the show…no exceptions.
5. Artwork sales will be handled by per the requirements of the gallery exhibiting the artwork and those requirements will be posted on the website and in the newsletter prior to the exhibit. Please price your artwork with that in mind. “Not for sale” artwork is welcome.
6. All entries shall be in good taste, suitable for public viewing audiences that include young children.
7. Two-dimensional pieces shall be properly framed and ready for hanging (with wire). Any pieces larger than 40”high or 36” wide including frame, will have support system (easel) supplied by the artist. Gallery wrapped canvases are welcome with wire hangers.
8. Artwork entries will not be admitted once the judging has begun.
