Palette Club of Ogden 

 Dedicated to the advancement of community interest in art and the encouragement of artists.

History 
   
The Palette Club was founded on October 7, 1943, by a group of twenty-one Ogden Artists.  The first meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Mary Warnock.  The artists selected Mrs. William Burford Cook As President, a prominent civil worker and club woman.  Lee Parkinson, the director of Ogden Arsenal, was elected secretary-treasurer.  The charter members named the organization Palette Club. The members agreed that the purpose of the club is the advancement of community interest in art and the encouragement of artists.  
   The club's first exibet opened on November 7, at the Utah Power and Light Auditorium.  The exhibit featured the work of Miss Florence Ware of Salt Lake  City.
   Today the Palette Club meets the second Tuesday of each month.  There are approximately one hundred members residing from Logan to Taylorsville.  The clubs meeting location is ARTSTOP
located at

2484 Washington Blvd
in Ogden.  All members of the public are invited to attend.  Monthly meetings feature a demonstration on art technique or a lecture on an art related topic.  The club sponsors several juried shows throughout the year as well as permanent exhibit venues throughout Ogden and the surrounding area.
